Harrods: wereldberoemd, maar meedogenloos voor dieren

Grootwarenhuis Harrods is wereldberoemd, maar helaas ook het laatste grootwarenhuis in Londen, UK, dat nog bont verkoopt. Engelse anti-bontbetogers van Bite Back's zusterorganisatie CAFT demonstreren op regelmatige basis bij het grootwarenhuis om klanten en toeristen in te lichten over het pro-bont beleid van Harrods. CAFT is zeer succesvol in het bontvrij krijgen van bedrijven. Zo gingen eerder al de bekende winkels Harvey Nichols, Liberty en Selfridges bontvrij na protesten van CAFT.

Bite Back steunt het protest tegen Harrods. En dat kan jij ook doen:
 
Stuur een mail of brief(kaart) naar Harrods en vraag hen om de banden met de wrede bonthandel te verbreken, de verkoop van al het bont te stoppen en een defintief bontvrij beleid in te voeren. Het fokken van dieren voor bont is verboden in de UK. Met de verkoop van bont gaat Harrods helaas voorbij aan de wensen van het Britse publiek en de democratische wil van het Britse parlement.

Ladies, Gentlemen,
 
I am amazed and utterly saddened to state that Harrods, this outstanding  department store, is still selling animal fur.
Why? You seem to believe that you can't do business without fur, this symbol of ridiculous vanity, based on sheer animal abuse and misery?
Please, look at other big department stores like Harvey Nichols, Liberty, Selfridges...  They took the right decision and  stopped the sale of real animal  fur, and they are just doing fine.
 
It's a pity that up till now, you didn't follow their example.
 
Do you want  Harrods to be the only  big department store without a grain of  ethical awareness?  I can't imagine that you are willingly tarnishing the image of Harrods.
 
I sincerely hope that you will rethink the matter seriously. I really hope that you will very soon show some compassion towards animals.
